The honest part

Estimating drywall is a tax on your time.

Counting boards by hand eats your evening.

An hour at the kitchen table with a tape measure and a calculator, after a full day on the wall.

Guess the price, eat the margin.

Round up to be safe and you lose the bid. Round down and you eat it. Neither feels good.

National tools don't know your supplier.

A board in Phoenix isn't a board in Boston. Generic estimators bury that gap in your number.

Three steps

From dimensions to a priced takeoff.

1

Enter the room dimensions.

Type length, width and height — or upload the plan and let it read the rooms.

2

We count the materials.

Board, mud, tape, screws and corner bead — with the waste factors you actually use.

3

We price it to your metro.

Real supplier numbers for your city — so the total is one you can hand a GC and stand behind.

The whole point

The right number is the local one.

Same 24×16 room, same materials. The only thing that changes is whose prices you trust. A national average is a guess dressed up as a number.

$689

A blended U.S. average. Could be high, could be low — you won't know until the invoice shows up.

RockCount, priced to Phoenix
$566 Built on your supplier numbers

The number your yard would actually charge this week — so your bid is tight, and your margin is real.

A $123 gap on one room is the difference between winning the bid and eating your margin.

Straight answers

Questions, answered honestly.

Is this only for drywall?
Yes, on purpose. We're getting one trade dead-right before we expand. "All-trades" tools end up mediocre at everything — we'd rather be the sharpest drywall estimate you've ever pulled.
Is it accurate?
We're getting there honestly. Every takeoff and price gets checked against real crews and real supplier invoices in each metro before we trust it. When we're not sure about your market yet, we'll tell you — we won't hand you a confident-looking number we haven't verified.
How much will it cost?
Free during beta. We'll figure out fair pricing with the crews actually using it — not behind closed doors. If you're on the early list, you'll have a say in what fair looks like.
Why do you need my city?
Because that's the whole point. Material prices swing hard between metros, and we build local pricing one city at a time. Telling us your metro is how you move it up the list.
Who's building this?
A small crew who spent enough time around drywall jobs to get tired of watching good subs lose bids to bad math. We're building in the open with the people who'd use it — that's why the waitlist asks how you estimate today.
